Church Family Weekend - Llandudno - 2018

Once again people gathered together for a weekend of Fellowship from churches in the Manchester Circuit. There were people from Moston, Long St, Crumpsall, Edge Lane and Hope.

The weekend is intended to provide time for fellowship and also prayer and witness; however the time can be spent individually as people wish, without a commitment to any of the organised activities.

Everyone made their own way to Llandudno and met at the hotel for the first of many meals. This was followed by a Quiz which was enjoyed by all, whether expert or not.

After a good night’s sleep the morning dawned with blue skies and bright sunshine, if but a little on the cold side. Morning prayers taken by one of the group preceded a full breakfast menu that set everyone up until Lunch!!

After breakfast, many craft ideas were set up in our own ballroom for people to get involved with if they wished otherwise people were free until lunchtime. Crafts included the communal jigsaw, painting facilities, wood and stones to get arty with and a restful fish film to watch. I forgot to say the theme of the weekend this year was “Gone Fishing”.

Morning coffee was served and then people either stayed and continued with activities or set off to explore Llandudno with lunch served at 12.30.

After Lunch people did their own thing, up the Orme by car or on foot, visited Colwyn Bay by bus (No bus pass as they cannot be used in Wales), shopping, walk on Prom and/or pier or stayed in again with crafts etc.

Then of course the evening meal at 6.30.

8 pm brought us to our concert with home grown talent and again an excellent one it was. No jugglers but we did have numerous sketches, singing, poetry, a song summing up certain things that had happened on the weekend!! and of course “the girls”. If you want to know more about them come next time. Everyone commented on it being an excellent evening. The Epilogue followed again conducted by a member of the group, and then to bed.

Again Sunday dawned with a cloudless sky and glorious sunshine. Breakfast was served following morning prayers. After vacating rooms and storing cases in our ballroom people again had the time free and as well as the Saturday examples a morning service was available at St. Johns Methodist Church. Lunch followed at 12.30 our final meal.

Our own worship service followed in the afternoon and continued our theme of “fishing” this being followed by Group Photo and tea, coffee and biscuits. After this we said our goodbyes and went on our way home, by now it was 4pm.
